Report suggests iPhone 8 will have curved OLED screen

Unconfirmed reports from Korea suggest that all iPhone 8 models will have curved OLED screens, much like the Samsung S7 Edge.

It had long been rumoured that there would be one line of Apple’s smartphone, however reports from The Korean Herald state that all iPhone 8 models will be equipped with a curved plastic screen, which will be created by Samsung.

Reportedly the tech powerhouse has ordered millions of the screens.
The source stated that: “the OLED version of the new iPhone will all be curved as Apple ordered all plastic OLED – not glass – from Samsung Display. Samsung is capable of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple.”

Rumours also suggest that Apple could remove their home button, favouring sensors built into the screen itself.
The newspaper’s source has also said: “the upcoming iPhone may use new sensing technology, which enables the phone to respond when users touch any side of the device. But, Apple may not adopt this technology.”

Apple are intending to release a phone with a radically different design, as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the company’s first smartphone.
