Lenovo looks like it may cut Dell and Nokia to the chase and release the world’s first Windows 8 tablet, according to reports.
The Verge reports Lenovo may have the tablet ready by October and though there was little more information than this, expectations are that it will have an Intel processor.
Those who attended CES believe the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga ,which was at the show to be the new tablet. It is expected the 13.3inch laptop will be twisted into a tablet shape. The prototype had aWindows 8 OS, 1600X900P resolution and 8GB of RAM as well as a 256GB SSD and 8hr battery life as well as the Ivy Bridge processor.
At 13.3 inches it may be a little on the large side for a tablet, so time will tell. Whatever happens Lenovo will face tough competition in the market, with Nokia, Dell and ASUS undergoing similar projects.
Windows 8 for tablet is set to be very similar in the way it works, to the consumer release version, recently shown. It is expected the Metro style interface will be used on the slates as they are on the computer version.
