Retina Ready MacBooks?

Apple may be looking at adding its beautifully clear retina display to future MacBooks and other OS X devices according to rumours.
Recent reports suggest that some of the app items that appear on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion are twice that of the usual resolution for such icons. Developers who have had access to the Beta release of the operating system have suggested that the double resolution items popup now and again.
The retina screen has been the considered a revelation by many on Apple’s iPhone and the newApple iPad device and it is expected that it would have the same affect on the OS X devices. The developer in questions said: “I would interpret it to mean that Retina is close; perhaps concurrent with the release of OS X 10.8.”
The new Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion was released last month and is claimed limits the gap between the iOS and OS X software. The consumer version of the software is set for sale this summer, alongside a new range of MacBooks – which may even be retina ready.
