HTC hires Iron man to rescue dying brand

The Taiwanese smartphone company maker behind HTC signed a contract with Robert Downey Jr.  better known as Iron man for marketing campaigns over the next two years.

The company will release five to six new online marketing videos starring the Hollywood actor starting August 15th. The adverts will be broadcast in the US, UK, Russia, Germany and China.

It is speculated that Downey signed a contract, which ensures he’s earn $12m over two years to promote the HTC handsets. Yet this is a small sum compared to the $1bn HTC are set to spend on marketing this year.

However, it is strategic move in order to try and cushion the expected decline in this quarter.
