Toshiba launches laptop tablet hybrid

Toshiba Gulf has launched a laptop-tablet hybrid called the Satellite W30t.

The hybrid device comes with an attach and detach latch, which means it can be both a laptop or a tablet, depending on what the user prefers.

The 13.3-inch detachable laptop runs Windows 8.1, has a fourth generation Intel Core processor and up to 500GB of HDD storage.

Santosh Varghese, general manager of digital products and services at Toshiba Gulf FZE, said: “We designed this for people who need a laptop for everyday computing but also want a tablet for entertainment and added mobility. It’s for everyone who demands essential computing and also appreciates portability.”

The Satellite W30t has a ten point multi-touch IPS display and 16:9 aspect ratio, and features the innovative Resolution+, which is a technology that enhances the quality of non-HD content to generate crisp images.

The all-purpose device comes with a USB 3.0 port with sleep and charge, micro USB 2.0, a micro SD card slot and micro HDMI.

The Satellite W30t is expected to be available across the Gulf states shortly.
