Acer Iconia W700 tablet deemed heavy but powerful

Acer’s Iconia W700 tablet may be heavy, but it is more powerful than many other models and comes with a full high-definition screen.
This is the verdict of Cnet, which claimed the device allows consumers to cope with demanding computing tasks that would usually be reserved for laptops.
It noted the tablet comes with a bundled dock and wireless keyboard, which means people could use it like a PC if they desired, while its extremely sharp display offers a good platform for browsing images and videos.
However, the news provider said tech fans might be put off by the fact the gadget is chunky – it is five mm wide, 191 mm deep and 11.1 mm thick – and heavy, as it weighs 949g. The tablet also comes without any expandable storage, which could be a problem for data-hungry consumers and its processor is not one of the most impressive.
Costing around £600, the device does not seem to offer the same value for money as other manufacturers, but it does run the full version of the Windows 8 operating system so people can install any desktop software they want.
