HP secures US patent for see-through screens

HP have been granted a US patent for their see-through screen technology.

The company described the technology as allowing the user to see both the sreen’s computer graphics whilst at the same time able to see the backdrop of the room behind the device.

The technology could be used for navigation systems projected on car windscreens or it could be used by advertisers who could place their adverts on windows.

The potential for this technology could hugely financially benefit the company. This is also because there are many applications, from augmented reality to displaying web browsers on windows or windscreens on cars.

A similar sort of technology is currently being worked on by Samsung.
