Acer Aspire 5732Z Review

What We Think

A great moderately priced laptop that features some great features yet lacks in certain areas for future proofing this almost perfect laptop such as the exclusion of a HDMI port.

Introduction

The Acer Aspire 5732Z is certainly an all around performer making it a breeze to send e-mails, surf the web or edit your photos and thanks to the integrated graphics, the Intel GMA 4500MHD, you can be impressive by visuals on the 15.6” HD widescreen.

Design

A great benefit to this laptop, is its full-size keyboard which features large keys for comfortable typing whilst media keys give you total control over your digital entertainment and short cuts to your controls. A great innovation is the touchpad lock which prevents accidental cursor movement and as seen on numerous laptops a WLAN key to turn your wireless on and off.

Screen

In addition, a hard disk of 500GB easily stores all your files and media, and a multi-in-1 card reader allows you to share and transfer files effortlessly. Furthermore, the DVD-Super Multi drive allows you to enjoy all your multimedia anywhere. In addition, it comes with a 15.6″ HD widescreen.

Performance

The Intel Graphics Media Acceerlator 4500MHD is a DirectX 10 capable graphics chipset but has no dedicated graphics memory and so will take up to 384MB from the main memory. However, in a laptop boasting 4GB of RAM this shouldn’t be a problem. Nonetheless, not all of the latest and greatest games will be playable on a integrated graphics chipset.

Our Verdict

This is perfect if you haven’t quite got enough money for a more premium laptop such as the Sony Vaio or just don’t wish to take the risk with a cheap laptop. A great all round – almost.
