The news comes after the manufacturer announced its 15-inch MacBook Pro with retina display in June – and the latest model boasts a number of advancements on its predecessor, Daily Tech reports.
Weighing just 3.57 pounds and being just 0.75-inch in thickness, the machine is one pound lighter than the last version and includes a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,600.
This screen has a 75 per cent reduction in glare and 29 per cent higher contrast ratio, as well as a 178 degree viewing angle and 300 nits of brightness.
Despite getting rid of the internal optical wave – which enabled it to meet its weight targets – Apple has stuck to a similar design for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
The laptop includes a backlit keyboard, FaceTime high-definition and USB 3.0 ports, while it also makes use of 8 GB standard RAM, dual-core Intel i5 or i7 processors and up to a 768 GB SSD.
In addition, users can benefit from up to seven hours of battery life.
