TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless Lite N 3G Router TL-MR3220

What We Think

For £23 this is a great 150Mbps router which comes with the newer technology of creating 3/3.75G networks.

Accessory Review

TP-Link TL-MR3220 Wireless Lite N 3G Router allows you to quickly set up a 150Mbps wireless network on-the-go and share a 3G mobile connection. In the box, you’lll find a variety of user guides, mini-CD containing drivers, router, connecting wires, AC adapter and antenna.

By connecting a 3G USB Modem to the router, a Wi-Fi hotspot is instantly established allowing users to share an Internet connection anywhere 3G coverage is available. This is great for those withiPhones, iPads or even a Dell Inspiron. You can use your 3G connection as a gateway to the internet should you not have an ADSL connection.

So whether you’re on the train, out camping or working at a construction site, you’ll have a reliable 3G wireless connection to accommodate your networking needs. What more could you want?

What’s on the back?

The router itself is very sturdy and feels like it could take a knock or two. What’s more, the silver TP-LINK logo on the top of the router is a glossy finish to the router.

The wireless router is compatible with UMTS/HSPA/EVDO USB modems and there is a 3G/WAN failover guarantee with an ‘always-online’ Internet connection. On the back of the router, you’ll find the power port, WAN port, 4 Ethernet ports, the USB port for a 3G router, antenna connection and the reset button.

A rather nifty capability of this router is that once the primary internet service is interrupted it will failback to the primary link keeping your home or business online with minimal interruption.

For those looking at alternatives, you may wish to consider the TP-Link TL-MR3420.

Our Verdict

The TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless Lite N 3G Router (TL-MR3220) is the baby brother of the TP-Link MR3420 which can get speeds of 300Mbps and can create a 3G connection in your home in minutes.
