In the last few months Facebook has been through a interesting situation. However, a number of advertisers have been spending rather large sums of money. Even a branch of the UK government has spent £100,000 to promote Britain as a place to visit.
The £100,000 that the government has spent on the Great campaign has achieved 470million ad impressions leading to 750,000 ad clicks and out of that about half a million ‘likes’ had been generated.
However, what is more important is the buzz that the social media campaign has created for such a modest outlay – in comparison to the £37million marketing budget that the Cabinet Office has access to.
It seems that the Facebook ads is a large part of Facebook’s future and could very well dictate its future progress.
