The Amazon Kindle Fire will come in two versions. The Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire were both unveiled at a press conference in the United States.
The Kindle Fire HD was previously only sold in the US. However, now the device will be on sale to UK consumers. The Kinle Fire HD includes a 7-inch screen and costs £159, that’s the same amount as the Google Nexus 7. The Kindle Fire, the non-HD version, costs £129. The iPad starts at £399.
The new Kindle device may very well be smaller than the iPad and cost alot less but it does not match the iPad’s screen resolution. However, the Kindle HD device does include an 11-hour battery life, a camera and 16GB of storage, as well as access to Amazon’s Kindle book service and LOVEFiLM.
Amazon are also set to release a new, smaller version of the Kindle e-reader which will sell for £69.
