Apple retains smartphone lead thanks to the iPhone 5

You might have seen the latest iPhone, the iPhone 5 from Apple, and simply think that it’s an iPhone 4S on steroids. Nonetheless, the smartphone has ensured that Apple have regained the top spot in the smartphone competition.

It is expected that the iPhone 5 will surpass the sales of rival smartphones including Samsung’s Galaxy S3.

The iPhone 5 is the better looking sister of the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 is thinner, lighter and faster. In addition, the iPhone 5 comes with a larger, 4-inch screen, and will support 4G LTE. However, it’s the fact that the iPhone 5 will be able to handle 8 hours of date on 4G LTE that gives Apple the edge over their competition.

Furthermore, Apple are rolling out the iPhone 5 in 100 different countries across 240 different carriers. Now, trying to meet supply is always a challenge and has often, as we have seen in the past, not been Apple’s strongpoint. As a result, analysts believe that Apple’s fast rollout is in order to beat competition.
