Google’s new Nexus 7 has launched in the UK

Google’s new Nexus 7 has been released in the UK, as well as in the US, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.

In the UK the Nexus 7 2, or the New Nexus 7, is retailing for £199.99 for the 16GB model and £239.99 for the 32GB model.

The difference between this model and its predecessor is the fact that it’s slimmer and includes a few extra features. The new device includes wireless charging, 4G connectivity and a screen that offers 323 pixels per inch.

A quick note is that if Google are introducing wireless charging on their tablet device it’s not long before other competitors include such technology in their devices.

Returning to the Nexus 7, it is claimed that the battery life lasts up to 10 hours and that it’s 1.5GHz processor is 80% faster than the original model. In addition, memory has been doubled to 2GB and includes the latest Bluetooth technology.

There is also a 5MP rear facing camera and a 1.2MP front facing camera as well as dual stereo speakers. However, let’s not be fooled the sound quality is not amazing.
The tablet measures in at 144 x 200 x 9.15 mm and is lighter than its predecessor, at 299g with Wi-Fi and 310g with 4G connectivity.

Overall, this could very well be the iPad Mini killer. However, September is just around the corner and Apple will be releasing their own products. As a result, here at we would advise you to stay in tune for the latest news.
