BT set to shut down all dial-up data connections

BT, the UK’s internet service provider is set to switch off its retro dial-up internet connections and consquently will plung those with such an out-dated mode of internet connection into a technological blackhole unless they switch their connections.
BT stated that they will close down the connection this month as a result of only a ‘tiny’ amount of people using such an outdated service. According to BT there are around 1,000 people using the service. Many of whom could be tempted to move to broadband considering its much better and cheaper.
BT began contacting dial-up customers about the termination of the out-dated service in June and informed customers of their options.
