Canon PIXMA MP560 Wi-Fi Ready Printer

What We Think

A brilliant all in one printer that’s ready out of the box.

Accessory Review

Ready to use out of the box, the best feature of the Canon PIXMA MP560 inkjet printer is that it comes with wireless. This means that you can print photo-lab quality prints from anywhere in your home or office with WiFi.

We managed to print a 9600 x 2400 dpi 10 x 15cm (4 x 6″) borderless photo print in just under 45 seconds. Photo quality is truly astonishing. The Canon PIXMA MP560 comes with 2 paper compartments which allows 2 way paper feeding.

By loading paper through the front cassette and rear tray you can choose to separate the plain and photo paper from each other and let the Canon PIXMA MP560 choose the best paper for your prints. You’re not just bound by printing from your laptop.

Print directly from your camera

The Canon PIXMA MP560 can take a compatible memory card (SD card) to print directly from your digital camera (perhaps the EOS 550D), camcorder or phone.

Big spenders may opt for the BU-30 wireless Bluetooth unit which allows you to print via Bluetooth. A nice feature it may be, but there aren’t too many times you’ll print directly from Bluetooth – so it’s not worth spending the extra £30.

A 5cm TFT display screen with scroll wheel allows you to view, select and edit your images for computer-free printing. The single ink tanks are a nice addition, too.

Save on ink

Canon allow you to replace ink tanks one by one, rather than buying a colour cartridge only because of your yellow running out. We installed the printer on a Mac and a laptop running Windows XP within minutes and printed about 30 6×4 Prints in high resolution with the ink still showing full capacity.

Photo quality

A real photo-quality printer at a hard-to-believe price. With a RRP of £149, if you can find it cheaper (like on Amazon), we’d certainly recommend it.

Our Verdict

Weighing 13kg in the box, Canon PIXMA MP560 Wi-Fi Ready all-in-one photo printer is a great addition for home or small business.
