The owner of the site Megaupload, Kim Dotcom, has recently announced his plans to launch a new website, even though still under arrest, called Megabox.
Kim Dotcom, who is currently 38, tweeted an image of his concept ‘Megabox.’ A site that he has declared will allow artists to sell their music directly to fans. However, it is unclear as to when this site will be launched, if at all. This in turn means that artists will be allowed to keep up to 90% of their earnings.
Mr. Dotcom (ignore the pun) was arrested back in January for his site was apparently being used for piracy. As a result all of Mr.Dotcom’s assets have been frozen.
The twist in the tale is that Mr. Dotcom has announced that the Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, was totally supportive of the efforts of the EFF who are taking the FBI to court over its handling of users’ files, with a hearing set for 29th June.
The trial of the Megaupload founder, Kim Dotcom, is set to start on 6th August.
