MSI has launched its first 3K gaming laptop.
The GT60 2OD-261US laptop has an anti-reflective 15.6-inch panel and screen resolutions of up to 2880 x 1620 with 3K HD colour calibrated display. MSI claims this is the “industry’s first 3K gaming notebook” according to TechRadar, as the majority of gaming laptops only have an 1080p screen resolution.
The high-end gaming system runs Windows 8 and has an Intel Core i7-4700MQ Haswell processor. The laptop also comes with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M GPU, which MSI claims is “the most powerful GPU in the world”.
The laptop has Dynaudio speakers and a built-in subwoofer to improve the user’s overall gaming experience. In addition, the SteelSeries backlit keyboard with programmable colour zones will create sufficient light if the user’s gaming session continues after daylight fades. As the game heats up, CoolerBoost 2 technology will help keep the laptop cool.
MSI’s most recent creation boasts storage facilities of an 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD spinning at 7200 RPM, and 16GB of DDR3L RAM.
The GT60 laptop is on sale for $2,199.99 (£1,346).
