
Archos has revealed details of three new tablets, which the company says will go “head-to-head” with leading brands.
The firm – which specialises in Android devices – is launching its Platinum products this month at what it has called a price “competitive to current market options”.
Loic Poirier, Archos’ chief executive, said: “As a pioneer in the portable technology market, our company philosophy has always been to provide innovative solutions to consumers at the best price possible.”
The 97b Platinum HD, 101 Platinum and 80b Platinum all use the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and include dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition, the 101 Platinum model also has GPS capabilities.
All three models come with a front and back 2MP camera.
With regards to display size, the 101 Platinum has the largest – with a 10.1-inch screens. This is followed by the 97b and 80b devices, which have 9.7-inch and 8-inch displays respectively.
Longer battery life is also being promised, as a result of 28 nanometer processing technology.
Details of pricing have not yet been revealed.
